Rupert Ramsay
Founding Partner
Rupert has many years’ experience in private practice having spent time in London, Geneva and Zurich.
Rupert’s BVI practice typically covers complex cross jurisdictional corporate structuring and trust related advice on private client structures administered from Switzerland. He also advises on BVI economic substance and leads the BVI banking and finance practice.
Rupert acts for a wide range of internationally based clients, including trust companies, high-net-worth individuals, family businesses, family offices, private banks and law firms.
Prior to founding Ramsay Reyes Law, Rupert was a Group Partner at a global offshore law firm and before that ran the BVI desk of a major international law firm, directly from Switzerland.
Rupert is admitted to practice law in the British Virgin Islands and England and Wales.
Rupert is based in Switzerland and when not working enjoys spending time with his young family.
John Carrington KC
Founding Partner
John Carrington is a lawyer by training and is one of His Majesty’s Counsel. He is the principal of Kendall Law and Kendall Corporate Services Limited.
John is a commercial litigator and has appeared on behalf of banks, trust companies, high-net-worth individuals, multi-national corporations as well as domestic individuals and companies. John and the team have extensive experience in the Courts of Appeal of The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
John also has a background in corporate law as well as regulatory matters as a former central banker in his native Trinidad and Tobago.
Will Ramsay
Head of Operations (Switzerland)
Will leads and co-ordinates the firm’s operations and marketing strategy in Switzerland. He is a Senior Leader with extensive experience in setting up and managing foundations, nonprofit organizations, and operational frameworks. He has proven expertise in structuring governance, financial oversight, and operational efficiency within international organizations.
He is currently President of the board at Lex International, and Head of Operations for AI for Education, and has a strong track record in building and scaling institutions, securing funding, and leading cross-functional teams. With over 20 years’ experience in foundations, international organizations and NGOs, he is skilled in process optimization, stakeholder engagement, and driving organizational growth.
Meurelene Watt-DaSilva
Legal Assistant & Lead Compliance Officer
With over a decade of experience in the legal and compliance field, Meurelene Watt-DaSilva brings a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management to her role as the firm’s Compliance Officer. Certified as a Compliance Professional by the International Compliance Association, she has spent the last ten years supporting both litigation and compliance departments, developing a practical and strategic approach to legal governance.
Currently pursuing her LLB, Meurelene remains committed to continuous professional development and staying at the forefront of evolving legal standards. Her strong foundation in various areas of law, combined with hands-on experience, allows her to effectively navigate complex regulatory landscapes and provide informed, ethical guidance to the firm.
A long-time resident of the British Virgin Islands, Meurelene has called the BVI home for the past 20 years. Her local insight, coupled with her professional expertise, gives her a unique perspective on compliance within the jurisdiction. She is passionate about upholding the highest standards of integrity and plays a key role in fostering a culture of accountability and compliance
